Ok...I am really getting tired of this heat. I cannot stand being hot (or cold for that matter...LOL). My mother and father in law's A/C has been broken for a while and their house reached 99 degrees yesterday. That worries me. I went to the hospital yesterday to see Shelbie and boy is she cute! She was not satisfied with her situation and was letting everyone know about it too. It was good to finally hear her cry. It shouldn't be long and she will be going home. She is just having problems sucking her bottle and apparently has developed an addiction to the narcotic they were keeping her sedated with (sigh). So they are going to have to work with her a little more. I made some of those homemade baby wipes today and they work pretty good. I caught Bounty on sale! Yipppee!!! Well, that is about all for now....

TIP
As I was mentioning above, I was making the homemade baby wipes. As I was chopping a roll of Bounty paper towels in half with my electric bread knife, I realized that this was also a great idea on saving money. I used one half to make baby wipes, and I just put the other mini half roll up in the kitchen to be used. I am usually always ripping paper towels in half anyway because one is too much sometimes. This keeps me from having to do this. I know that they sell paper towels with half perforations also, but they might be more expensive. If you need a whole paper towel, just take two mini ones.

RECIPE
This is a concoction I made up all on my own.....it is very quick and cheaper than buying those special pre-made mashed potato products.

Cheesy Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Follow directions on the side of a box of instant mashed potatoes...I, of course, use the cheapest ones I can find. While waiting for the water, milk, and margarine to boil, add a few pieces of Velveeta cheese (or the off brands, like I do). Sprinkle garlic powder to taste also. Stir until boiling, to melt cheese, and and remove from heat...add mashed potato flakes according to directions. Allow to set after stirring in for a minute or so.
Have a great day!
