Well, I have been a complete waste today. The only real accomplishment that I had was to do all the laundry. I am so behind on my housework it is pathetic. Anyone have any organizational tips? I need some badly. I had to find a new pediatrician for Jared today because I found out that our new health insurance doesn't consider our old one a preferred provider....how insane. I get so tired of all the restrictions the health insurance companies put on people. I had to switch OB/GYN's when my husband's previous
employers insurance picked up when I quit AT&T...I was not amused at the time. I was pregnant and that is not a good time to find another OB.  However, I very much like my new OB now and they did a good job taking care of me since I had so many problems. But now that my husband has changed jobs, the new insurance doesn't consider my OB a preferred provider either....so if we would have any more children, I would be stuck with a large bill because I am not switching again. It's getting old. Well I am
sorry to go off on a tangent like that...thanks for listening!

TIP
Ok, this one is a little sneaky...but it is not illegal....LOL. This one was developed and practiced often by my parents and I just happened to remember it. When travelling and staying away from home...or just travelling home from visiting someone, this is the way to save on long distance calls. First, call the operator. Tell them you would like to make a person to person collect phone call to whatever number you are wanting to reach (for instance, you are travelling and want to call home...or you left grandma's house and she wants to know you got home okay). They will ask you who you want to speak with...you must have a code name....we always used the cat's name plus our last name (Morris Smith for example...LOL). At this point, the operator will call the number and announce to whoever answers the phone that there is a person to person collect phone call for "Morris Smith." At that point, your accomplice at the other end will regretfully inform the operator that "Morris Smith" is not able to come to the phone (and he isn't able to, that isn't a lie). The call will be terminated...but grandma will know that you are home okay without a long distance phone call that potentially could drag out. Also, if you are travelling and don't want to use your calling card, this will signal the other party to call you back at your hotel. Direct dialed calls from home are much cheaper than calling card calls. I know...I used to work for AT&T! This tip is for the extremely frugal....

RECIPE
VEGGIE WEDGIES
1 can of biscuits (cheaper the better)
1 package of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip mix (or store brand)
1-2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (cheapest to buy a chunk and shred at home)
The following minced vegetables in quantities of your choice:
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Carrots
Onions
Celery
Others of your choice...
On a cookie sheet...work biscuit dough pieces together until you have covered the entire cookie sheet with biscuit dough. Bake at recommended oven setting until light brown. Remove and allow to cool slightly. Mix the dip according to instructions and spread over entire biscuit sheet. Sprinkle minced vegetables on top. Finish sprinkling with shredded cheddar cheese. Chill thoroughly in refrigerator and cut into squares. Makes wonderful h'ordourves or party food. Nutritious as well.
