1 cup flour 1/4 tsp salt 3/4 cup sugar 1 tsp baking powder 5 tbsp cocoa 1/2 cup milk 2 tbsp melted shortening 1/2 cup nuts (I leave these out) Mix and spread in a 8" greased & floured pan 1 c brown sugar 1 tbsp cocoa 1 c water Mix and pour over cake. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Allow cake to cool slightly and invert onto a large dinner plate (for round cake). The sauce does tend to slop all over, so the plate needs to be bigger than the pan. Also, the warmer the cake is when you unmold it, the more the sauce will slop. This is a delicious cake.
