Olive Oil
Beeswax

I use about 1/2 tsp. of beeswax pellets per ounce of oil. I often heat the oil together with a handful of dried calendula in the oven for a few hours, and then strain the oil before using in this recipe.
Calendula is wonderfully healing and soothing to irritated skin.  Different types of oil can be used, if you prefer. I have used Apricot Kernel Oil and Avocado Oil on occasion, but Olive Oil is my favourite.

Melt beeswax and oil together in double boiler over medium heat. When beeswax is completely melted, you can stir in a few drops of an essential oil that is beneficial to young children, such as lavender and chamomile. Pour into a container while still liquid, and allow to set. Store covered at room temperature for up to a year (I always use mine up long before a year has gone by!).
