Follow directions on the side of a box of instant mashed potatoes...I, of course, use the cheapest ones I can find.  While waiting for the water, milk, and margarine to boil, add a few pieces of Velveeta cheese (or the off
brands, like I do).  Sprinkle garlic powder to taste also.  Stir until boiling, to melt cheese, and and remove from heat...add mashed potato flakes according to directions.  Allow to set after stirring in for a minute or so. 
This is a concoction I made up all on my own.....it is very quick and cheaper than buying those special pre-made mashed potato products.
