2 lb. round steak, cut in thin strips
3 tablespoons oil
Sprinkle of salt
1 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons cornstarch
14 oz pineapple chucks with juice
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Brown meat strips in oil. Sprinkle salt.
Add water and cover. Simmer 1 hour until tender. Add more water if necessary. There should not be much water left when finished.
Stir sugar and cornstarch together well in saucepan. Add pineapple and juice, vinegar and soy. Stir over medium heat until it boils and thickens. Stir into beef. Serves 4-6.
