1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 t. soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
3 or 4 apples, shredded

Spread in pan and sprinkle on the following topping. Bake @ 350 for 40-45 minutes.

1 T. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 T. flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts

*This is all my recipe in the book gives me....however I imagine that the last four ingredients are for mixing together and adding to the top like you would do for a coffee cake topping. There are a lot of coffee cake recipes in here so I imagine that's what this is used for as well. Good luck.
