4 c. flour
2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 c. boiling water
1 c. molasses
1 T. soda

Mix flour, sugar, and shortening for crumbs. Take out 1 c. for top. Add water, molasses and soda to the rest. Mix and put in cake pan. Top with crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees. Time not given just keep checking on it til it springs up.
